What this looks like in practice
A preschool day has a rhythm. Children arrive, settle into a chosen task, and work at their own pace. There is group time, time outdoors, and time for reading, writing, math, and science activities. Teachers move between children, watching and stepping in only when needed.
The benefit shows up at home. A child who has practiced choosing work and finishing it starts to dress themselves with less fuss. They carry a plate to the sink. They tell you what they did that day. These are small signs that independence is taking hold.
